Hacktoberfest is a monthlong celebration of open source software organized by DigitalOcean. It takes place every October. Its main goal is to encourage people from different parts of the world to get involved in open-source initiatives.
The Merit Core Team would like to invite you to join the effort and contribute to some projects! Obviously, we would like to see you working on code and documentation in MeritLabs projects. But, if you would like to contribute to a different initiative, it’s also fine! If we are able to encourage someone to make the IT environment more open and collaborative, we consider it a win.
To take part in the event you have to register on the Hacktoberfest site between October 1-31.
Once you are registered, you need to make 4 pull requests on GitHub to any public repository.
You might look for issues labeled Hacktoberfest
or good first issue
to start with.
Be sure to make valuable contributions, be it a typo fix or an implemented feature.
To motivate you more, the first 75.000 participants will receive a t-shirt and some swag from DigitalOcean.
See you at the Hactoberfest 2020!
